Bloomfield Hearing -- FAQs

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A HEARING AID?
If you think you have hearing loss, you need to make an appointment for a hearing test. One of our physicians will review your hearing test and examine you. If the test and examination indicate that you have hearing loss and no further testing is necessary, you are most likely a candidate for a hearing aid.
CAN I GET A SMALL HEARING AID THAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN’T SEE?
Generally the smaller the hearing aid the less powerful and the larger the hearing aid the more powerful. Nevertheless, with today’s technology most of the smaller hearing aids are quite powerful. Unless your hearing is very poor you will most likely be able to wear a hearing aid that is well concealed.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER HEARING AIDS?
Many insurance policies carry a hearing benefit that covers hearing aids. It is always advisable to call your insurance company and ask if they provide this coverage prior to coming to our office. One of our physicians will be happy to contact your insurance company and ask about your hearing benefit.
WHAT IF I WANT A HEARING AID THAT IS BETTER THAN MY INSURANCE WILL COVER?
Don’t worry. We will apply your insurance to pay the maximum benefit, and we will bill you the difference.
DO YOU HAVE A PAYMENT PLAN?
Yes, we deal with Care Credit. This plan has many payment options, which you can learn about by clicking on our payment options tab on the home page.
WHAT IF I GET HEARING AIDS AND FIND OUT I DON’T USE THEM OR LIKE THEM?
We will work with you to find out what the problem is, and sometimes it is as easy as adjusting the aid. If you find that you just don’t want them, we have a 30-day full money back guarantee less $100 for your time spent with the Audiologist.
